Now we see it. Let's talk about it.

Gambling harm can be difficult to recognise and even harder to talk about. Many people experience harm in silence because of shame, stigma and fear of being judged. This campaign aims to make gambling harm more visible, start important conversations and help people access support when they need it.

Campaign overview

Research and lived experience show that gambling harm is often hidden. People may feel embarrassed, ashamed or worried about how others will react, making it harder to reach out for support. As a result, gambling harm can go unnoticed until it has a significant impact on a person's finances, relationships, mental health and wellbeing.

Now we can see It. Let's talk about it. shines a light on the hidden nature of gambling harm. Using descriptions from people with lived experience, the campaign brings to life what gambling harm can feel like, helping the community better understand its impact and recognise the signs in themselves or someone they care about.

The campaign encourages open, supportive conversations and reminds people that gambling harm can affect anyone. By making gambling harm easier to see and safer to talk about, we hope more people will seek support earlier and access the free services available through GambleAware.
